Oncidium
A menudo llamada la "Orquídea Dama Danzante", Oncidium es un género vibrante y exuberante conocido por sus profusas varas de flores pequeñas e intrincadas que se asemejan a bailarinas con faldas amplias y ondulantes. Nativas de una amplia gama de hábitats en toda América Latina, desde selvas tropicales hasta bosques nubosos de gran altitud, estas orquídeas suelen producir inflorescencias altas y ramificadas densamente cubiertas de flores en deslumbrantes tonos de amarillo, bronce, rojo, rosa y blanco, a menudo adornadas con manchas o patrones contrastantes. Su distintivo labelo suele ser grande y con volantes, lo que aumenta su apariencia viva y dinámica. Muchas especies e híbridos también son deliciosamente fragantes, llenando el aire con un aroma dulce y, a veces, especiado.
