Sphyrospermum buxifolium var alboroseus Culture

One of the Sphyrospermum species we grow at Ecuagenera, Sphyrospermum buxifolium var alboroseus does best under intermediate conditions.

  • Light: Bright to moderate indirect light.
  • Temperature: It prefers days of 20-28 °C (68-82 °F) and cooler nights around 15-20 °C (59-68 °F).
  • Humidity: High, stable humidity (70-85%) keeps the foliage in top condition; a humidifier or grouping plants together helps in dry rooms.
  • Watering: Water when the top of the substrate starts to dry; keep it lightly moist and never waterlogged.

Additional notes: Like most Ericaceae, it can drop part of its foliage from the stress of shipping. Give it good ambient humidity and water 2-3 times a week for the first 15 days and it will push new growth and recover quickly.
