Descripción

A primary hybrid of Phrag. kovachii × Phrag. anguloi, two iconic slipper orchid species from the Andean cloud forests, this intermediate-growing Phragmipedium produces large, commanding flowers with exceptionally broad, rounded sepals, horizontally extended petals, and a prominent, mottled pouch. The combination of kovachii's imposing size and anguloi's refined elegance results in one of the most sought-after primary hybrids in the genus.

  • Light: Moderate indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the strap-like leaves.
  • Temperature: 58–75°F (14–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from consistent cool nights to encourage reblooming.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; maintain high humidity with good air movement to prevent fungal issues around the crown.
  • Watering: Water frequently and keep the roots evenly moist at all times; Phragmipedium does not tolerate drying out between waterings.

Additional Notes

Grows well in fine bark, perlite, or a mix with sphagnum moss in a plastic or glazed pot that retains moisture. Ships bare root and well-established — roots are healthy and ready to adapt quickly to your growing conditions.
