Descripción

Commonly known as the Silver Leaf Philodendron, is a striking vining aroid native to the tropical forests of South America. It is prized for its highly decorative foliage and relatively straightforward care. The 'narrow' designation likely refers to a form with elongated or more slender leaves as it matures.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Providing adequate light will help maximize the striking silver mottling on the leaves. Protect it from direct, intense sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: Warm. This plant thrives in typical household temperatures, ideally between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures consistently below 60°F (16°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity (60-80%) is preferred for optimal growth, although it can tolerate average indoor humidity. Misting or using a humidifier can be beneficial.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of the potting mix feel dry to the touch. Ensure the soil is rich, well-draining, and that the container has excellent drainage, as this plant is sensitive to overwatering.

Additional Notes

This plant is prized for its heart-shaped, olive-green leaves marked with silver or gray patterns. It’s a vining plant that benefits from climbing support like a moss pole to develop larger leaves. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested
