DescripciΓ³n

DescripciΓ³n

A luminous maudiae-type slipper orchid hybrid from the cross between Paph. armeniacum and Paph. Michael Koopowitz, combining the warm, golden tones of the prized Chinese species with the refined, full-formed blooms of the Michael Koopowitz lineage. The result is a visually striking plant with exceptional flower quality and a warm-growing disposition that makes it accessible to a wide range of growers.

  • Light: Low to moderate indirect light under 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun at all times to protect the attractive mottled foliage.
  • Temperature: Warm grower. Daytime 70–82Β°F (21–28Β°C), nighttime lows of 60–68Β°F (15–20Β°C); consistent warmth is key to long-term health and flowering.
  • Humidity: Prefers 60–75% relative humidity; humidity trays or a humidifier with good air movement help prevent crown rot in the tight leaf axils.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist at all times; Paphiopedilums lack pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate prolonged drying β€” water before the mix dries out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine to medium bark mix or perlite-sphagnum blend with excellent drainage; repot every 2 years when the substrate begins to break down.
