Descripción

A distinctive species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming upright, branching stems densely clothed in small, oblong leaves. Flowers emerge from the apex of each stem on short scapes, displaying narrow, recurved white tepals and a compact lip with a vivid yellow callus and dark central markings — a charming and unusual growth habit for the genus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the fine, multi-branched stems.
  • Temperature: 54–75°F (12–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from good air movement and stable conditions.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; consistent humidity is important for this upright, branching species.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a medium pot, or mounted to showcase its architectural habit. A conversation piece in any collection. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
