Información

Maxillaria graminifolia

A distinctive epiphyte from the Andean cloud forests, immediately recognizable by its very narrow, grass-like linear leaves that give the plant an elegant, fine-textured appearance. Multiple small flowers are produced in clusters along the stems, each with cupped, rounded sepals and petals contrasting sharply with a dark, fleshy lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the slender foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from stable conditions and good air movement.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy root development and reliable blooming.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in fine bark mix and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best grown mounted on cork bark or in a small, well-draining pot to showcase its graceful, grass-like habit.
