Descripción

An epiphytic species native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing solitary flowers on short peduncles from slender, elongated pseudobulbs, with broad, ovate, reflexed sepals and petals and a prominent trilobed lip with a wide, undulate, papillose midlobe. Its clean, well-opened floral structure and tufted, narrow-leaved habit make it an elegant and botanically distinctive addition to any intermediate collection.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the narrow foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); thrives as an intermediate grower with a moderate nighttime temperature drop to encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy pseudobulb development and prolific flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a small pot or mounted on cork. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt to your growing conditions.
