This prolific species lives up to its name with abundant small flowers appearing in succession on compact plants, rewarding growers with nearly continuous displays when provided with intermediate temperatures and consistent moisture.
Additional Notes
Native to Mexico and Central America at 1,500-2,500 meters elevation. The species name "floribunda" means "abundant flowers." Grows well mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or potted in fine bark mix with sphagnum moss.
This little guy seemed to arrive in a good condition but 2-3 days later it began to loose its leaves and eventually died. I think the stress during shipping was too much. I'm still giving 4 stars since the plant looked great in the beginning. An advice for the future to anyone who wish to order Masdevallias: I noticed that the smaller the plant the more likely it dies within days after the long international shipment. I think they just dry out to much or get overheated in the package. I've never had any problem with larger Masdevallias from Ecuagenera, the quality is almost always excellent or superior. I think this is what they are really good at! Producing great quality Masdevallias for very reasonable prices!
