Masdevallia Steve Hampson

A striking hybrid of Masd. Elizabeth Yanza × Masd. veitchiana, with strong veitchiana influence running through both sides of its parentage. The result is a plant of exceptional floral impact — broad, well-formed sepals with vivid coloration carried on upright spikes above a compact, vigorous clump of foliage.

• Light: 70–80% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to preserve flower color and protect the foliage.
• Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C) — Cool grower; benefits from cool nights to stimulate consistent blooming.
• Humidity: 80–90%; strong air circulation is essential to prevent crown rot and fungal issues.
• Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; water 2–3× per week. Masdevallias have no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate prolonged dryness.

Additional Notes

Grown at Ecuagenera's facilities in the highlands of Ecuador under cool, humid Andean conditions. Plants are shipped bare root, well-established, and acclimated to cool growing conditions.
