This primary Lepanthes hybrid combines the elegant floral structure of niesseniae with the expressive, often vividly colored flowers of felis. Expect small but striking blooms with intricate petal shapes and contrasting tones, often appearing successively from the base of the leaf.
-
Light: Provide filtered light at 60–70% shade, similar to the diffused light of cloud forest understory. Avoid direct sunlight, which may damage the delicate foliage.
-
Temperature: Best grown in intermediate to intermediate-cool conditions. Ideal temperatures are 18–24°C (64–75°F) during the day with a nighttime drop to 12–16°C (54–61°F).
-
Humidity: Maintain 70–90% humidity with constant gentle airflow. Stable humidity encourages steady growth and more consistent flowering.
-
Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist at all times, never completely dry. Mounted plants may require daily watering or frequent misting, particularly in warmer periods.
Additional notes:
This hybrid remains compact and miniature, making it an excellent choice for terrariums, orchidariums, or humid greenhouses. When grown under stable humidity and cool-intermediate temperatures, it may produce frequent successive flowers throughout the year.
For optimal growth, mount the plant on cork or tree fern with a light layer of sphagnum moss, allowing roots to stay moist while maintaining good airflow. The intricate flowers and manageable size make this hybrid especially appealing for collectors of miniature Lepanthes orchids.
