Lepanthes fusiformis

A doubly ornamental miniature species native to Ecuador. It grows a markedly elongated lanceolate leaf with a densely papillose iridescent surface, and produces successive flowers directly over the leaf with a compact rhomboid outline formed by an acuminate dorsal sepal and synsepal, and an elaborate central floral complex with bilobed petals and a prominent bilobed labellum within.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; leaf iridescence intensifies with slightly lower light levels.
• Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an Intermediate grower that benefits from good air circulation and stable temperatures.
• Humidity: 75–90%; maintain consistently high humidity — ideal for terrariums or humid intermediate setups.
• Watering: Water frequently to keep the medium evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness, as Lepanthes roots are sensitive to dehydration.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss. Its ornamental iridescent foliage makes it as prized for its leaf as for its intricately structured flowers. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
