Información

Cattleya Valda (1901)

An outstanding primary hybrid bred from the historic cross between C. harpophylla and C. coccinea, capturing the finest qualities of both parents. This delightful miniature epiphyte displays a compact, space-saving growth habit with slender pseudobulbs that produce short, upright inflorescences holding a striking cluster of starry, heavily textured flowers beautifully presented over the foliage.

  • Light: Bright indirect light or filtered sunlight with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to protect the compact leaves.
  • Temperature: 59–86°F (15–30°C); an adaptable intermediate grower that benefits from a slight night drop to mirror its natural lineage.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent atmospheric moisture encourages strong root establishment and uniform growth.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the potting medium to dry almost completely between applications; ensure exceptional drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Additional Notes

Growing this miniature variety in a fine to medium-grade, fast-draining bark mix ensures optimal root aeration to maximize its compact plant and vibrant flower potential. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated at an intermediate temperature and promptly potted upon receipt.
