Descripción

A dwarf, compact sympodial orchid from the cloud forests of South America, with densely arranged small fleshy ovate leaves and disproportionately large waxy flowers emerging directly between the leaves. Each flower features elongated, twisted reflexed sepals, narrow petals, and a large, prominent cucullate lip with a waxy texture.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the compact foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that thrives with stable temperatures and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; consistent humidity supports the fleshy growth habit and reliable flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a small pot with a fine, well-draining bark mix or mounted on cork. The oversized flowers relative to the dwarf plant make it a standout collector's specimen. Ships bare root, well-established.
