Bulbophyllum corolliferum var atropurpureum

A compact epiphyte from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, producing tight, globose umbels densely packed with small flowers bearing broad, fleshy, ovate sepals clustered at the apex of an upright peduncle. It grows with a neat, creeping habit and firm pseudobulbs each carrying a single leathery leaf.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–50% shade cloth; tolerates slightly more light than many Bulbophyllum species.
• Temperature: 65–86°F (18–30°C); a Warm grower with a minimum tolerance around 60°F (16°C).
• Humidity: 70–85%; provide good air circulation to keep roots and rhizome healthy.
• Watering: Water frequently during active growth, allowing the medium to approach dryness briefly between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a wide shallow basket with a coarse, open bark mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
