Información

Anthurium nutibarense

A robust terrestrial aroid from the cloud forests of South America, described by Croat in 2008. Its broad, cordate leaves display a deeply bullate surface with sharply impressed venation, held upright on thick, sturdy petioles — with new growth emerging wrapped in prominent cataphylls.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the textured leaf surface.
  • Temperature: 59–75°F (15–24°C); a warm to intermediate grower that benefits from stable, humid conditions with minimal fluctuation.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; high ambient humidity enhances leaf expansion and preserves the characteristic bullate texture.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top layer of substrate begins to dry; avoid waterlogging and never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Anthurium nutibarense is a rare collector species prized for its dramatically textured foliage and vigorous clumping habit. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established; plant promptly upon arrival in a well-draining mix (chunky bark, perlite, and sphagnum) and water generously to rehydrate the roots.
