Información

Cattleya maxima f. semialba tall 'striada'

A select color form of this majestic species native to Ecuador, distinguished by its exceptionally tall pseudobulbs and robust upright growth. It produces strong, elongated inflorescences from mature growth, presenting an elevated, crowded canopy of large, white blossoms characterized by striking pinkish veining running through the petals.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with a 40–50% shade cloth; protect the foliage from scorching direct sun.
  • Temperature: 59–86°F (15–30°C); a versatile intermediate to warm grower that thrives with a distinct day-to-night drop.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity combined with gentle air movement prevents stagnant moisture on the leaves.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth and allow the medium to dry almost completely between applications.

Additional Notes

Potting in a coarse bark mixture or mounting on a large cork plaque perfectly accommodates its large growth habit and showy 5-inch (12.5 cm) flowers. Your plant ships bare root and should be thoroughly rehydrated at an intermediate temperature before being potted or mounted upon arrival.
