Información

Cattleya wallisii rubra # 4

A highly desirable and intensely colored color form of this distinctive species native to the tropical forests of South America, with this particular select cultivar representing a superior, heavily saturated strain. This medium-sized, upright epiphyte produces smooth, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a rigid, leathery leaf and short inflorescences that bear beautifully presented, exceptionally fragrant flowers with rich, deep tones.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the foliage.
  • Temperature: 59–86°F (15–30°C); an intermediate to warm grower that adapts well to stable indoor conditions.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity encourages vigorous growth and prolific flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; never allow the roots to remain waterlogged.

Additional Notes

Growing this variety in a medium-grade, fast-draining bark mix ensures optimal root aeration to maximize its compact plant and striking flower potential. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated at an intermediate temperature and promptly potted upon receipt.
