Información

Cattleya caulescens f. coerulea

An elegant and highly sought-after color form from the rocky mountain regions of South America, producing rigid, upright, tightly clustered pseudobulbs with a single leathery leaf. The star-shaped blooms emerge on tall, erect inflorescences that hold several long-lasting flowers high above the foliage, presenting a graceful display that makes this choice rupicolous variety a stunning centerpieces for any curated collection.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–50% shade cloth; strong light levels help maintain its compact growth form and promote seasonal flowering.
  • Temperature: 60–85°F (16–29°C); an adaptable intermediate to warm grower that appreciates warm day temperatures and a slight drop during the evening.
  • Humidity: 60–75%; requires stable atmospheric moisture paired with consistent, fresh air movement to keep the foliage and root system thriving.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when actively growing and ensure the fast-draining medium dries completely between applications; significantly reduce moisture during the winter rest.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted securely on cork bark or potted in a shallow clay container filled with a coarse, inorganic rock or gravel mix to match its natural lithophytic habit. The compact plant stays under 6 inches tall with individual flowers measuring roughly 2 inches (5 cm) across. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated and potted or mounted immediately upon arrival.
