This miniature epiphytic bromeliad is a highly sought-after cultivar known for its intense coloring and compact, stoloniferous growth habit. It features smooth, glossy leaves that transition from deep green to a brilliant, fiery red when exposed to high light, forming tight rosettes that readily produce offsets to create a dense, hanging cluster.

• Light: Very bright, indirect light or dappled sunlight. High luminosity is essential to trigger and maintain its vibrant red pigmentation; in lower light, the foliage will revert to green.
• Temperature: 60-85°F (16-29°C). It adapts well to warm conditions but must be protected from freezing temperatures and extreme, dry heat.
• Humidity: Moderate to high, ideally between 50-70%. While more resilient than thin-leaved bromeliads, it benefits from consistent ambient moisture and good air circulation to prevent stagnant conditions.
• Watering: It is recommended to water 2 to 3 times a week outdoors and once a week indoors. Keep the substrate slightly moist, but ensure it drains quickly to prevent root rot.

Additional notes

This cultivar is particularly effective in hanging baskets or mounted on wood, where its stolons can drape naturally. For best results, use aged water or rainwater to fill the central cup, as it can be sensitive to heavy mineral deposits found in fresh tap water.
