Descripción

This historic primary hybrid between C. intermedia f. coerulea and C. maxima f. coerulea, first registered in 1859, represents one of the earliest successful Cattleya crosses and remains highly prized for its elegant blue-toned flowers.

  • Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light with some direct morning sunlight to promote robust pseudobulb development and flowering.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm conditions with temperatures between 20-28°C (68-82°F). Benefits from slight nighttime temperature drops to encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: Requires moderate to high humidity levels of 60-75% with excellent air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when growing medium approaches dryness. Allow complete drainage between waterings and reduce frequency during winter rest period.

Additional Notes

Features fragrant flowers with lavender-blue petals and sepals and a darker purple-blue lip with yellow throat markings. As a coerulea form, flowering can vary in blue intensity and overall size depending on growing conditions.
