Phragmipedium Easy MenΒ (Primary Hybrid)

This distinguished hybrid orchid, is a primary cross between the species Phragmipedium pearcei and Phragmipedium manzurii. This hybrid masterfully blends the delicate, elongated form and light coloration of P. pearcei with the refined form and soft, twisting petals of P. manzurii.Β 

  • Light: Prefers moderate, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, especially during the midday hours, as this can easily scorch the leaves. A bright, east-facing window or a location with filtered light is often ideal for this type of orchid.
  • Temperature: Thrives in intermediate temperatures. Ideal daytime temperatures should range between 18-24Β°C (65-75Β°F), with a slight drop at night to 13-18Β°C (55-65Β°F). This temperature range helps promote healthy growth and flowering.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally between 60-80%. Excellent air circulation is still essential to prevent fungal issues, especially in humid conditions.
  • Watering: This hybrid, like its parents, demands consistent moisture. The potting medium should never be allowed to dry out completely. Water thoroughly and frequently, making sure the pot has good drainage to avoid waterlogged roots.
