Phragmipedium China Dragon

A hybrid of Phrag. Grande × Phrag. besseae, combining the dramatically elongated lateral petals of the former with the compact, floriferous nature of the latter. The result is a vigorous slipper orchid with broad, strap-like leaves and a bold, architectural flower form.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the foliage.
• Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that tolerates brief cool nights but prefers stable conditions.
• Humidity: 60–80%; higher humidity supports healthy root activity and leaf development.
• Watering: Keep the mix evenly moist at all times using a well-draining medium; never allow the roots to dry out completely or sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine bark or sphagnum-based mix in a plastic or clay pot that allows good drainage. Ships bare root, well-established.
