Información

Cattleya reginae

A charming miniature species from the rocky mountain forests of South America, highly desired for its compact, space-saving growth habit and delightful visual appeal. This distinctive rupicolous epiphyte forms dense clusters of small, succulent pseudobulbs that produce short, upright inflorescences holding a lovely display of delicate, star-shaped flowers just above the foliage.

  • Light: Bright indirect light or filtered sunlight with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to protect the compact, succulent leaves.
  • Temperature: 59–86°F (15–30°C); an adaptable intermediate grower that tolerates warm days and thrives with a slight nighttime drop.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent atmospheric moisture encourages strong root development and plump, healthy pseudobulbs.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly but allow the growing medium to dry completely between applications; ensure excellent drainage to keep the roots healthy.

Additional Notes

This miniature variety is best grown in a coarse, fast-draining bark mix, shallow terracotta pots, or mounted onto slabs to accommodate its compact roots and small plant size. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated at an intermediate temperature and promptly potted upon receipt.
