DescripciΓ³n

Phragmipedium Gualaceo Culture:

This exceptional slipper orchid hybrid is a cross between Phragmipedium x roethianum and Phragmipedium kovachii. This cross represents an exciting combination that brings together some of the finest traits in modern Phragmipedium breeding.

  • Light:Β Thrives in bright, filtered light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn. East or north-facing windows with diffused light, provide optimal conditions for healthy development.
  • Temperature:Β Performs best in cool to intermediate ranges: 16-22Β°C (60-72Β°F) during day, dropping to 10-16Β°C (50-60Β°F) at night.Β
  • Humidity:Β Requires high humidity levels between 65-85% with excellent air movement to prevent fungal problems. Use humidity trays or room humidifiers to maintain proper moisture levels around the plant.
  • Watering:Β Demands constant moisture without waterlogging. Use well-draining, moisture-retentive medium that stays consistently damp but never soggy. The growing medium should never completely dry out.Β

Additional Notes

  • Floral Characteristics: Phragmipedium Gualaceo produces stunning magenta-pink flowers with deep burgundy tones and a rose-colored pouch. The staminode displays white with distinctive pink spotting. Blooms sequentially on tall stems with extended flowering periods. Highly prized for its intense coloration and classic slipper orchid form.
