This captivating epiphytic orchid species, also known 'Crested Paphinia', is celebrated for its distinctive crested flowers that display intricate patterns and artwork-like colors, emerging from broad, leathery leaves.
Additional Notes
The broad, leathery leaves provide an attractive backdrop to the unique blooms. This species adds exotic beauty and sophistication to any orchid collection with its unusual flower structure.
See comment of previous plants, Max.plicata, Cnths. aromatica, C. Ecuagenera and C.Aurora(1905). The quality of this plant was less good than the other four.

This orchid does not like to travel and tends to loose leaves after some time. But with the pseudo bulbs it should put out new growth. Picking it up at a show or getting it at a POP up location might reduce travel time. I got this one in 2 days and hoping it will do better

Arrived with a new growth starting but no live roots. No sign of new root growth yet and new growth has stalled. Will wait and see how it gets on.
I picked up the bare root orchid at the Redland Orchid Festival and it was in good condition. It's been two weeks and it is acclimating to it's new environment.
