Descripción

Descripción

A robust epiphyte from the cloud forests of South America, producing long, arching spikes with numerous medium to large flowers arranged along branching secondary rachises. The broadly spreading sepals and petals have a smooth texture with a gently undulate margin, while the wide trilobed lip features a rounded frontal lobe and a contrasting yellow central callus flanked by prominent column wings.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the long lanceolate foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with distinct seasonal temperature variation and consistent air movement.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; high ambient moisture supports vigorous pseudobulb development and encourages the production of multiple spikes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a medium bark mix with excellent drainage and good airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
