Miltoniopsis phalaenopsis f. alba

The alba form of Miltoniopsis phalaenopsis, a cool-growing epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of South America. It produces flat, broad-petaled flowers with rounded, overlapping sepals and petals and a wide, pansy-like labellum bearing a radiating yellow mask at the center — entirely free of the typical pigmentation, making this form particularly prized among collectors.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the soft foliage and fade the delicate flowers.
• Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that requires stable, mild temperatures and excellent air circulation — heat is the primary cause of failure with this species.
• Humidity: 70–85%; consistent high humidity is essential; avoid misting the flowers directly to prevent spotting.
