Descripción

A floriferous species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing an impressive flush of multiple flowers simultaneously on short scapes from the base of each growth. The blooms are delicate and nodding, with narrow, recurved tepals and a distinctly hooded, deep-toned lip that contrasts beautifully with the pale petals.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the soft, clustered foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–75°F (12–24°C); an intermediate grower that performs well with stable temperatures and good air movement.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; consistent humidity is important for this multi-stemmed, clumping species.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix or mounted. Its clumping, multi-stemmed habit makes it a spectacular specimen when mature. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
