A distinguished cultivar from the cross between Masd. yungasensis and Masd. uniflora, selected for its exceptional multicolored flowers with bold patterns and vibrant contrasting tones. This award-quality clone demonstrates robust growth and consistent blooming, making it a prized addition to any cool-growing orchid collection.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate grower. Daytime 59-75Β°F (15-24Β°C), nighttime 50-63Β°F (10-17Β°C). Tolerates slightly warmer conditions than strict cool growers while still benefiting from a 10-15Β°F day-night differential.
  • Humidity: 65-80% with good air movement; maintain through humidity trays, humidifiers, or greenhouse environments.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist year-round; mounted plants need daily misting, potted specimens require watering every 2-3 days depending on medium.

Selected cultivar 'Bay Island' represents outstanding flower quality and vigor. Grows well mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or potted in fine bark mix with sphagnum moss.
