DescripciΓ³n

DescripciΓ³n

This charming species produces distinctive disc-shaped flowers with rounded sepals that create a unique circular presentation, blooming reliably throughout the year. The compact growth habit and forgiving nature make this an excellent choice for growers seeking an easy-to-cultivate Masdevallia.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth protection. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch leaves.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime 64-77Β°F (18-25Β°C), nighttime 55-64Β°F (13-18Β°C). Tolerates slightly warmer conditions than most Masdevallias while maintaining a 10-12Β°F day-night differential.
  • Humidity: 65-80% with good air circulation. Use humidity trays or humidifiers while ensuring adequate airflow to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep media consistently moist. Mounted plants need daily misting, potted specimens 3-4 times weekly. Reduce slightly in winter without allowing complete drying.

Additional Notes

Native to Brazil at elevations of 1,800-2,800 meters. Best grown mounted on tree fern or cork bark, though adapts well to small pots with fine bark mix or sphagnum moss.
