Descripción

A miniature epiphyte from the cloud forests of South America, bearing successive flowers on slender ramicauls that emerge from beneath the leaf. The lateral sepals spread broadly like wings, framing a tubular lip and small petals in a distinctive, intricate arrangement.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); a cool grower that benefits from nighttime drops. Minimum tolerance around 45°F (7°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; maintain high ambient moisture and ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep the roots consistently moist but never waterlogged; water frequently with good drainage, as this genus does not tolerate drying out.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a small pot with a fine, well-draining mix (sphagnum or fine bark). Plants are shipped bare root, well-established, and grown at our nursery in Ecuador.
