Descripción

A miniature epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, instantly recognizable by its large, orbicular leaves with a bold dark grid-like reticulated pattern — the intricate "net" that gives this species its name. A long, densely flowered pectinate spike emerges from the leaf surface, bearing fleshy flowers with a sharply acuminate dorsal sepal and diverging horn-like tips that add a dramatic sculptural accent to each bloom.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can fade the ornamental leaf patterning.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an Intermediate grower that appreciates moderate temperatures with a slight drop at night and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity enhances the lush reticulated foliage and supports continuous blooming.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist; water frequently in small amounts with excellent drainage to prevent root rot.

Additional Notes

Excellent mounted on cork bark to showcase the ornamental foliage, or grown in a net pot with fine sphagnum moss. A closed terrarium or enclosed glass container makes an excellent environment for this species, though it can also thrive in any humid, well-ventilated setup. Ships bare root, well-established.
