Descripción

A miniature cloud forest species from the Andean cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing small, intricately structured flowers directly on the leaf surface. The blooms display fused lateral sepals forming a distinctive hooded structure, with thread-like petals and a projecting labellum — a hallmark of the genus.

  • Light: Low to medium indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the thin, delicate leaves.
  • Temperature: 45–72°F (7–22°C). Intermediate-cool grower; requires consistently cool temperatures and good air movement to thrive.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; best grown in a terrarium or high-humidity enclosure with constant airflow to prevent stagnant moisture.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist at all times; never allow to dry out completely. Use soft or rainwater when possible.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork or tree fern, or grown in a small pot with fine sphagnum moss. Ideal for terrarium culture. Ships bare root, well-established. Grown at Ecuagenera, Ecuador.
