Descripción

A pendant-spiked species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing loosely spaced flowers along a gracefully arching raceme. Each bloom features broad, reflexed lateral sepals, narrow petals, and a structurally complex lip with a fleshy hypochile and an elongated, curved epichile.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun exposure, which can stress the pseudobulbs.
  • Temperature: 59–77°F (15–25°C); intermediate-warm grower that benefits from a slight nighttime temperature drop to initiate spiking.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; high ambient humidity supports healthy pseudobulb development and spike elongation.
  • Watering: Water generously during active growth; reduce slightly after pseudobulbs mature but never allow the roots to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a hanging basket or mounted to allow the pendant spikes to arch freely downward. Use a coarse, well-draining bark mix with good airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root and well established.
