Descripción

A reed-stem orchid endemic to Ecuador, producing tall, branched panicles densely packed with numerous small, star-shaped flowers. The inflorescence is highly floriferous, with slender, dark stems and lateral branches that give it an airy, cascading structure.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that tolerates cool nights typical of Andean cloud forest conditions.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; maintain consistently high humidity to support active growth and flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

A species native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, typically found at mid-to-high elevations. Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix or mounted on cork. Ships bare root, well-established.
