Información

Cattleya warscewiczii var sanderiana

A magnificent variety of this iconic species native to the mountain forests of South America, celebrated for possessing some of the grandest proportions in the genus. This robust, upright epiphyte features exceptionally tall, stout pseudobulbs that yield prominent, nearly vertical inflorescences carrying an impressive cluster of massive, heavily textured, and intensely fragrant flowers.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; provide high light levels to optimize seasonal growth and flowering.
  • Temperature: 59–86°F (15–30°C); an adaptable intermediate grower that benefits from a distinct night temperature drop to mimic its native environment.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent atmospheric moisture encourages vigorous vegetative development and robust new root extension.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when actively growing and allow the potting medium to dry almost completely before repeating.

Additional Notes

Growing this large-statured variety in a coarse, fast-draining bark mix ensures optimal root aeration to maximize its impressive plant size and massive bloom potential. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated at an intermediate temperature and promptly potted upon receipt.
