Descripción

A charming and floriferous species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming dense, clumping mats of narrow, lance-shaped leaves with multiple nodding flowers emerging simultaneously on slender, dark scapes. The blooms are small and delicate, with recurved tepals and a prominent, well-veined lip — producing a distinctive scent specifically adapted to attract its natural pollinators.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the dense, clumping foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with good temperature drops at night and excellent air circulation.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity is essential for this cool-growing, clumping species.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a wide, shallow pot or basket with a well-draining bark mix to accommodate its spreading, clumping habit. A spectacular specimen in full bloom. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
