Descripción

A reed-stem epiphyte from the cloud forests of South America, producing lax, branched panicles of small, dramatically dark flowers on wiry stems. The blooms display very dark, strongly recurved and twisted sepals and petals alongside a small, bilobed lip with contrasting pale margins and delicate pendant filaments, creating one of the most visually striking floral displays in the genus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–72°F (10–22°C); an intermediate-cool grower that benefits from cool nights and good air movement.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; good air circulation around the stems and roots helps prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix or mounted on cork. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
