Coelogyne flaccida is a graceful Himalayan species that flowers in late winter and early spring, when its slender pseudobulbs send out pendent sprays of creamy white blooms. Each flower carries a lip marked in warm yellow and soft brown, and a mature plant can hang a dozen or more along a single arching raceme. The scent is strong and distinctive, sweet and slightly musky, filling a room on a sunny morning.
