Información

Cattleya mossiae semialba x Cattleya Sierra Blanca 'Mount Whitney'

An outstanding hybrid resulting from crossing C. mossiae with the select, high-quality clone C. Sierra Blanca 'Mount Whitney', combining legendary lineage for exceptional exhibition potential. This robust, upright epiphyte produces magnificent spring blooms that feature a beautifully broad form and a highly prominent, gracefully ruffled lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; provide strong air movement and avoid direct, unfiltered midday sun.
  • Temperature: 59–79°F (15–26°C); an adaptable intermediate grower that responds wonderfully to stable greenhouse or indoor conditions.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; high, consistent humidity is essential to promote robust vegetative development and optimal flower substance.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; never allow the roots to remain waterlogged.

Additional Notes

This large-flowered orchid performs best when grown in a coarse, fast-draining bark mix to accommodate its mid-to-large plant size. It ships bare root, well established, and should be gently rehydrated at an intermediate temperature prior to potting upon arrival.
