Descripción

A floriferous epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing branched spikes with medium-sized flowers well spaced along slender branches. The ovate sepals and petals bear dark basal spots and a gently undulate margin, while the very broad trilobed lip features a bilobed frontal lobe with a crenulate edge and a dark-spotted central callus flanked by prominent column wings.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the pseudobulbs and foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–72°F (12–22°C); an intermediate to cool grower that benefits from a nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; consistent moisture supports vigorous growth and reliable flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a medium bark mix with good drainage and airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
