Descripción

This exceptional yellow form features the species' characteristic bent flower stems with delicate blooms appearing successively when provided with intermediate temperatures and consistent care.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth. Direct sun will damage foliage and flowers.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime 64-77°F (18-25°C), nighttime 55-64°F (13-18°C). Requires 10-15°F day-night differential for optimal flowering.
  • Humidity: 65-80% with strong air movement. Maintain with humidity trays, humidifiers, or terrarium culture.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist throughout the year. Mounted plants need daily watering, potted specimens every 2-3 days. Reduce slightly in winter.

Additional Notes

Native to Ecuador at 1,800-2,800 meters elevation. The forma name "xanthina" refers to the yellow flower color, and 'Alex' is a selected clone. Thrives mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or potted in fine bark mix with sphagnum moss.
