Gomesa longipes

An epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of South America, producing compressed pseudobulbs with linear-lanceolate leaves and branched inflorescences of showy flowers. The undulate sepals and petals bear dense irregular barring on the upper half, while the broad, trilobed labellum with an expanded, ruffled midlobe and prominent winged column give the flower the characteristic dancing-figure silhouette of the Oncidiinae alliance.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the pseudobulbs and shorten bloom duration.
• Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); a cool to intermediate grower that benefits from stable temperatures and good air circulation.
• Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy pseudobulb development and strong inflorescence production.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to dry slightly between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a pot or basket with a coarse, well-draining bark mix and strong air movement around the roots. Shipped bare root in well-established condition, ready to pot upon arrival.
