A striking species native to the cloud forests of South America, producing short, densely clustered inflorescences that contrast beautifully against its distinctive foliage. The slender, reed-like pseudobulbs support narrow leaves, giving rise to star-shaped, vibrant flowers with a delicately crisped lip that makes it a standout choice for any collector.
This medium-sized plant produces moderately sized, long-lasting blossoms that bring an exotic flair to your growing space. It ships bare root and should be gently rehydrated at an intermediate temperature before being potted into a loose, well-draining orchid mix upon arrival.
I ordered two mixta and received two healthy plants packed and shipped well. ONe plant had a spike on it and is doing very good with the shipping it has been about a month and all 14 plants in the order are doing very well.
While the plant is mature and has flowered before(also has 2 sheaths on the newest 2 growths), it barely had any good roots at all. All of them had been chopped off, with just a few stubs left alive. Thankfully, those were enough to rehydrate the plant and I expect it to make a full recovery once it starts producing roots
I gave 5 stars for this product, in spite of the poor root system, because it came with 5-6 healthy shoots and bud!
