This is a highly sought-after terrestrial hybrid between Phil. gloriosum x Phil. lynamii. It is treasured for its large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves with deep green color and prominent venation, contrasted sharply by the vibrant pink/blush hue on the petioles and emerging leaves.
-
Light: Requires bright, indirect light. Good light intensity helps enhance the pink coloration. Avoid direct, harsh sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
-
Temperature: Prefers warm, stable household temperatures, ideally between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Protect from cold conditions and sudden temperature drops.
-
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity, ideally 60-70% or more.
-
Watering: Water moderately, allowing the top 1/4th to 1/3rd of the well-draining aroid mix to dry out completely before watering again. It is sensitive to overwatering and root rot.
Additional Notes
This plant grows horizontally and is best suited for long, shallow planters or wide shelves where its magnificent foliage can spread. As with all Philodendrons, it is toxic if ingested.
