A distinctive species from the Andean cloud forests, it bears elegantly tubular flowers with a tall, erect tail that gives each bloom a striking architectural quality. Its compact habit and refined floral form make it a rewarding addition to any intermediate-growing collection.
Additional Notes
Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this species thrives in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage. Shipped bare root, well-established.
This very small plant came with dried out moss around it's roots and wrinkling in it's leaves from dehydration. I repotted it right away to help it re-hydrate. The leaves are still stiff and strong so should bounce back with no problem. I hope it doesn't lose another leaf and thrives with flowers to come.
