Bauhinia guianensis

A vigorous tropical liana from the rainforests of South America, recognized by its distinctive bilobed leaves with rounded, symmetrical lobes and palmate venation. Stems are slender and twining, producing aerial roots that anchor the plant as it climbs — an unusual and collector-worthy specimen from the Fabaceae family.

• Light: Bright indirect to filtered light; tolerates moderate shade but grows most vigorously with good light and no harsh direct midday sun.
• Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C); an intermediate to warm grower suited to tropical and subtropical conditions with no frost tolerance.
• Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports vigorous growth and healthy foliage.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate begins to dry; ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
