Beschreibung

This is a large terrestrial orchid that grows on rocky slopes in humid mountain forests, at about 1,600 meters above sea level. This orchid has tall, slender, branched stems.

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the pleated leaves. 
  • Temperature: Maintain intermediate to cool temperatures between 58-80°F (14-27°C).
  • Humidity: Requires moderate to high humidity. Ensure excellent air circulation to prevent issues in the humid conditions.
  • Watering: Keep the growing medium consistently moist. Water thoroughly, allowing the medium to just dry slightly between waterings, but never letting the roots dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Flowers are large, about 3 inches (7.5 cm) across, and are typically pure white with a gold flush in the lip's throat. While individual blooms are short-lived (ephemeral), the plant produces a succession of flowers from the stem tips.
