The fronds are carried on slender, elongated petioles arising from a creeping rhizome, forming an open, spreading clump with a clean, architectural simplicity.

• Temperature: 60–82°F (16–28°C); thrives as a warm to intermediate grower with stable conditions and good air movement.
• Humidity: 50–70%; adapts to moderate humidity and tolerates brief dry periods once established, thanks to the water-storing capacity of its leathery fronds.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mount or substrate to dry out almost completely before watering again; Pyrrosia is notably drought-tolerant compared to most ferns and is sensitive to prolonged waterlogging.
• Growth Habit: Epiphytic fern that spreads via a creeping rhizome, producing individual fronds at intervals along the stem. Classified as cf. drakeana, indicating close morphological affinity to Pyrrosia drakeana with potential taxonomic distinction pending further study.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork bark or tree fern fiber with minimal sphagnum moss; can also be grown in a very coarse, well-draining epiphytic mix. Shipped bare root, well-established.
